On episode 328 of The Nurse Keith Show nursing and healthcare career podcast, Keith interviews nurse trauma expert Kathy Allan about how hard-working, stressed-out nurses can move from fight, flight, and freeze back to a state of flow through her own twelve steps of healing training program, which is available to healthcare organizations of all sizes that want to truly invest in their nurses’ well-being, happiness, and ultimate workplace and career satisfaction and success.

If you are a nurse who would like to work in an environment that feels safe, where nursing is more than a task to be completed, and where your heart smiles when you think about going to work, join Kathy Allan and her team to learn how to make trauma-free nursing a reality. They offer nurses a new kind of healing care for nursing practice: care that benefits nurses, honors their wisdom, and values their health.

IMAGINE a healthcare system where. . .

  • trauma-free nursing is the right of every nurse
  • trauma-free nursing feeds your soul while it heals your patients
  • trauma-free nursing transforms healthcare into healing care

Kathy is a Board Certified Holistic Nurse who served as an instructor in the Healing Touch Program and on the faculty of Beyond Ordinary Nursing where she taught Integrative Imagery to nurses. In addition to Healing Touch, her energy medicine studies have included Rosalyn Bruyere’s three-year Energy Medicine Training, and the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. Her trauma studies include graduation from the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute where she serves as an Assistant in their practitioner training program, the two-year Touch Training For Psychotherapists, and two programs for healing developmental trauma: NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) and NeuroAffective Touch (NAT).

Ms. Allan currently serves on the Advisory Group for the Crisis Stabilization and Safety Aid for Front Line Workers and First Responders at the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute. Kathy is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and has appeared in theater and in films. She can honestly say that her talent earned her a prominent spot on the cutting room floor. She also does Stand-Up Comedy.
