This episode of The Nurse Keith Show is about pulling back the curtain on career coaching for nurses, and spelling out exactly what working with me is like and how nurses benefit from such services. I love coaching nurses, and helping them have more satisfying and exciting careers is one of my greatest joys!
Straightforward career coaching differs from life coaching because it’s about, well…your career. Most career coaches assist with cover letters, resumes, interview skills, and other things, with little or no commentary or advice regarding other aspects of the client’s life.
My coaching is holistic; that means we work on the nuts and bolts (like resumes and interview skills), but we can also choose to examine your lifestyle, relationships, and other parts of your life, not just your workstyle and career. Let’s face it; an awesome resume means little if your interview anxiety causes you to be incontinent at crucial moments, so we need to look at many aspects of your life (if you’re willing to, of course).
These are some of the areas of focus in my coaching practice:
- Resumes and cover letters
- LinkedIn optimization
- Social media and networking
- Career transition
- Cultivating the vision
- Interview preparation
- Nurse entrepreneurship
- Blogging, writing, and podcasting skills
- Self-care and wellness
Anyway, for those of you who wanted a down and dirty description of what a nurse career coach does, there you have it in good old black and white. I’m not your average career coach, and I have many tricks and tips in my magic toolbox. If you’d like to chat, please get in touch, and we can talk about what you’d like your nursing career to be and how to make it happen!
